Does it seem like 2016 is just flying by? It feels like just yesterday we were ringing in the new year, with summer a distant glimmer on the horizon. Well, now it’s arrived, and before it hits full swing, we’ve got some great news to bestow upon you music fans out there: On Saturday, Sept. 10, FM 94/9’s Indie Jam returns to the Junior Seau Oceanside Pier Amphitheatre!
That’s right. Like a yearly checkup on the pulse of pop/rock radio mainstays and buzz bands alike, the annual all-day festival (3-10 p.m.) features a healthy mix of artists running the gamut of musical genres on two stages right by the North County beach!
Headlining the 2016 edition of this shindig is San Diego indie-rock favorite X Ambassadors, who return to town after headlining the San Diego County Fair on June 15. Seems like they just can’t quit us, huh? Can't say we blame 'em. FM 94/9’s also dug in and brought forth other delightful acts to fill out the day: New Zealand electro-pop duo Broods; Icelandic folk/rock/blues outfit Kaleo; Pop Etc (formerly known as the Morning Benders); LA singer/songwriter Bishop Briggs; English troubadour Barns Courtney; and the Austin, Texas-based indie-folk/alt-country duo the Wind & the Wave.
That’s seven killer acts lined up for this year’s Indie Jam -- but honestly, for those "Renegades" out there, X Ambassadors’ inclusion alone should be worth the price of admission, amirite?
And how much is that price you might be asking? We’re glad you asked. General admission tickets are only $18 (plus applicable fees) and to upgrade to a VIP ticket is just $15 (plus fee) more. Go here for tickets and more information.
