Sometimes you can force people to attend meetings, send them to prison, fine them and even force them to lose just about everything before they realize they have a problem. Others can do all that and never see it. Reggie Rogers? I think he fits squarely into group B.

The former All-American at Washington and Detroit Lions defensive end was charged Tuesday with a DUI and a hit-and-run in what is at least his sixth DUI offense. This was Rogers' fifth DUI arrest in the state of Washington, according to court records, but not his worse offense.

That came in October of 1988 when Rogers killed three teenagers in a DUI accident.

In October 1988, Rogers was drunk when he ran a red light in Pontiac, Mich., and collided with another car, killing three teenagers. Rogers, who suffered a neck injury in the incident, was later convicted of negligent homicide and served a year in prison.

This time? Rogers didn't kill anyone, but he did get in an accident and kept driving, eventually getting pulled over by police and yelling profanities at the officers, calling one "Coach James," apparently a reference to former Washington coach Don James. That Reggie Rogers, what a model citizen.
