James Franco Will Teach Film Workshop at Palo Alto High

James Franco graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1996.

Now, nearly 20 years later, the actor has announced that he'll lead a workshop on film at his alma mater.

Hollywood Reporter noted that Paly students grades nine through 12 are eligible to take the class, but they must submit an application by Thursday.

According to that application, 24 students will be selected to create an original film that will be screened at a film festival "if it is good."

In 2013, Franco starred in "Palo Alto," a film about a high school teacher's inappropriate relationship with a student. It was based on "Palo Alto Stories," a short book he wrote.
