Don't Call Me Sweetheart: Ashley Judd Slams ‘Everyday Sexism' at Airport

In a Facebook Live video, the actress explained how an airport security worker called her "sweetheart," complimented her dress and eventually touched her

You can call Ashley Judd a Golden Globe-nominated actress or a feverish Kentucky Wildcats fan — but don't call her "sweetheart."

Judd took to Facebook Live earlier this week condemning employees at an unspecified airport after saying she experienced "everyday sexism" on her way through security Saturday.

In the Facebook Live video, the actress explained how an airport security worker called her "sweetheart," complimented her dress and eventually touched her.

"I said, 'I'm not your sweetheart, I am your client,' so I was already setting a boundary," Judd said. Guess what happened next … he touched me. I didn't see him touch anybody else, and I turned around and said 'that was unnecessary.' … My skin is burning, my feet are burning, it's so hard to continue to set these boundaries when someone continues to to push. Then for good measure he just said one more time, 'have a good day sweetheart!' "

"It's so easy to let it go, not to speak up, particularly when it's so easy for someone to push back and say 'Oh I was just being polite,' " Judd added.

The actress posted a follow-up Facebook Live video later on Saturday, describing her discussion with a manager at the airport.

"I’m very happy to report that the manager with whom I spoke immediately apologized," Judd said. "He had a very long conversation with the employee, and assured me that the training … uniformly is to call people sir and madam, and that touching someone is totally inappropriate."

Social media users had mixed reactions to Judd's videos, with some praising her comments against sexism and others claiming the actress overreacted to the situation.

Judd did not specify which airport the incidents occurred in, but has been traveling in Europe filming "Berlin Station."
