Well, look at this Tuesday night lineup. The great Van Morrison is playing NICU Amphitheatre with legend Mavis Staples and you'll no doubt hear all the favorites. Meanwhile, Michael McDonald released a new record and is performing at California Center for the Arts, Escondido and after catching him at the Belly Up a while back, I can say he's still a consummate performer and worth catching live if you love his "blue-eyed soul." At the Casbah, things get dirty with the unpredictable Black Lips, where you never know what kind of shenanigans are going to happen. Around town, Deaf Club is at Soda Bar, JJ Grey plays a sold-out show at the Belly Up, and Tim Pyles hosts our pals Blind Mountain Holler at the Merrow.
