Day 1 of San Diego Music Thing was incredibly educational by day, and by night the city was buzzing with great shows all over town, from the Griffin to the Whistle Stop to Soda Bar. I dare say that Saturday will be even better, because not only are there killer lineups at the usual spots, but there is an afternoon outdoor stage with the Silent Comedy, Unwritten Law and Dead Feather Moon, and if I know San Diego, we love anything that allows us to drink outside on a street while rocking out to great local bands. After that's over, you can see a great lineup at the Casbah headlined by keynote speaker Kim Gordon in her new project, Body/Head, rock out to a solid lineup capped off with Shake Before Us at Bar Pink or see local heroes Transfer headline U-31.
