Even if Jim James isn't a household name, it's hard to deny the influence and innovation that he and My Morning Jacket have gifted the rock, and particularly indie-rock, scenes over the past couple decades. So it was no surprise when tonight's Belly Up show was announced that it sold out almost immediately, especially since the last time he was solo in the venue was for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame traveling series that had him being interviewed between songs. All this to say, this is definitely a hot ticket tonight. There are lots of other great shows, too, like Cloud Nothings, who we interviewed earlier last month, the rock & roll of Wolfmother at the Observatory North Park, and the late addition of musical theater buffs Lea Michele and Darren Criss at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay. November is already off to quite a great start, indeed.
