Your job: Decide to get out of town and fast. Our job: Help you find where you're headed. This week, Worth the Drive takes us to...

The Tasty Cupcakes & Wine Tour: It's a new out-and-about from the Santa Barbara Adventure Company.

Two great tastes: Pairing a beverage that usually bows at the start of a meal with a treat that ties up the end is an unusual choice. In fact, we can't recall seeing wee gateaux and grape-y libations go hand-in-hand before. Intriguing.

Now that we think about it: Chocolate bars and cabernet are longtime besties. So. Yeah. We can see it.

The tour: Santa Barbara Adventure visits, via van, a few Santa Inez Valley wineries; sipping and studying things of a pinot-like nature are on the schedule. There will be a light lunch at a winery. After the wineries wrap, the tour stops at Solvang's Enjoy Cupcakes, where there will be trying of treats like the Chocolate Blackberry Syrah and Pomegranate Mango Chardonnay. Yep, cupcakes with hints of wine.

Days: Thursday through Sunday

Price: There's an introductory rate of $125; normal rate is $150.

LA-Santa Inez-LA: This can be done on a Saturday or Sunday, Angelenos. Since the Adventure Company says everything wraps by 3 or 4, you can be back home and brushing the crumbs off your shirt by 6 p.m. at the latest.
