Only in OB: Bongo Assault

It’s not often you hear about a drunken fight ending in an assault with a bongo drum. That’s what police say happened in Ocean Beach overnight.
Officers received the call just after 3 a.m. Thursday that a man and a woman, who had been drinking together, were fighting on Voltaire and Etiwanda streets. When police arrived, they found the woman with a gash to the back of her head.
Michael Perry, 35, was arrested on suspicion of assault, for allegedly striking the woman with a bongo drum.
The woman was taken to a hospital for stitches.
