AT&T Welcomes Android to the Family

AT&T is finally preparing for live after the iPhone. With reports that the popular Apple phone could show up on other carriers in the near future, AT&T announced its first Android powered phone Thursday.

The Motorola BACKFLIP won't hit stores until next month but AT&T is already touting its access to 20,000 apps and its MOTOBLUR feature, which syncs contacts, messages and photos from social networking sites like Facebook and Picasa with your phone.

The phone also will be compatible with AT&T's recent HSPA 7.2 upgrade, which should make surfing the web on the troubled network that much smoother.
