Ronnie Brown Returns to Chargers

The Chargers, uncertain of running back Donald Brown's availability this Sunday after a recent concussion, re-signed a familiar face.

Ronnie Brown was added to the roster on Tuesday.

"At this point, being my 10th season, any opportunity is a blessing," Brown said. "Coming here makes it even easier."

Ronnie Brown was most recently on the Houston Texans roster. He saw very limited action in three games before being released on Oct. 1. His familiarity with the playbook and ability to block in pass protection should come in handy for the Bolts.

"It's great to have Ronnie back," quarterback Philip Rivers said. "It's literally like he hadn't left."

Brown will join rookie undrafted rookie Branden Oliver -- who broke out in a big way with a pair of touchdowns on Sunday -- and Shaun Draughn as the three options at running back.

To make room for Ronnie the Chargers released linebacker Kevin Reddick.
