Padres Lose to Diamondbacks 8-4

Padres hosted the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night and lost 8-4, coming off a series win against the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants at Petco Park.

The Padres started off slow, down 4-1 in the bottom of the 3rd when Yangervis Solarte came through with an RBI double to plate Wil Myers. That cut the Arizona lead in half, 4-2.

Padres pitcher Andrew Cashner was pretty good for the Padres on Monday night, pitching six innings and striking out nine. Yonder Alonso hit his first homerun of the season for San Diego -- a solo shot in the loss.

Game two of the series starts Tuesday evening, featuring the pitching matchup Jeremy Hellickson vs. Odrisamer Despaigne. The Padres are now 4-4 on the season.
