Padres Continue to Win

With two games down and one to go in the series, the Padres are on the verge of sweeping Miami. In their 5-1 win Tuesday night Eric Stults (3-2) went six-plus innings to record his third victory of the season.

Will Venable hit his fourth homer of 2013 in the second inning. Marlins right fielder Marcell Ozuna never saw the ball and even Venable appeared to hesitate out of the batter's box, assuming it was a routine fly ball. It was not. The ball landed well up into the right field bleachers.

The Padres have now won 9 of their last 12 and outscored the Marlins 10-1 in their series thus far. Getaway day is Wednesday with first pitch at 12:40 p.m. PDT.
