Brush Fire Burned in City Heights

Firefighters mopped up the scene just after 4 p.m.

A half-acre brush fire was burning in City Heights Wednesday afternoon, according to San Diego fire officials.

The fire started around 2:15 on the 4180 block of Manzanita Drive at the end of Marlborough Avenue.

Structures were initially considered threatened, but firefighters have been able to control the fire, according to the San Diego Fire Department.

A helicopter was used to extinguish the flames alongside several fire units on scene.

Firefighters mopped up the remaining flames around 4 p.m.
