Power Outage Hits Hillcrest, Bankers Hill

A power outage hit Hillcrest, Bankers Hill and Mission Hills Wednesday night.

An outage left thousands of customers without power in parts of Hillcrest, Bankers Hill and Mission Hills Wednesday night.

San Diego Gas & Electric reported a service outage at around 6:50 p.m. At its peak, the power outage affected approximately 3,700 residents in the aforementioned neighborhoods.

SDG&E officials said there is no word on the cause of the power outage just yet. The estimated time of restoration is 11:17 p.m.

As of 7:20 p.m., residents in the area, including 1st Avenue, Laurel Street and the 3500 block of 5th Avenue reported having no power.

By 8:30 p.m., nearly 400 customers still remained without power.
