Survey says business travelers enjoy extending their San Diego work trips into leisure trips

San Diego has been ranked the top city for business-turned-leisure travel by Embassy Suites Hotels.

San Diego has been ranked the No. 1 city for business-turned-leisure trips.

For their 4th Annual Business Travel Survey, Embassy Suites Hotels asked travelers what cities they wish they could visit on a business-turned-leisure trip. San Diego took the top spot with more than 60-percent of the vote.

Other cities that made the cut include Seattle and Denver.

According to the survey, 61-percent of business travelers report maximizing a business trip by extending their stays for leisure purposes at least some of the time.

On average, the survey reports that 45-percent of business travelers say they stay an additional three days at their business destination to take in the sights and culture of their surroundings, while 32-percent stick around a little longer simply to relax.
