San Diegan Among SoCal Plane Crash Victims

Four victims were killed Sunday when a small plane crashed at Santa Monica Airport

A San Diego resident was among the four victims killed in a plane crash in Santa Monica, Calif., on Sept. 29, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office confirmed Friday.

The coroner’s office says Kyla Dupont, 53, of San Diego, died in the fiery crash.

Two additional plane crash victims were identified Friday: Mark Benjamin, 63, of Malibu, Calif., and Lauren Winkler, 28, of Irvine, Calif. The fourth and final victim has not yet been identified, but is believed to be Benjamin’s son, Luke Benjamin.

On Sunday, the four victims were killed when the twin-engine Cessna Citation they were traveling in veered off the runway after landing at the Santa Monica Airport and crashed into a storage hangar.

The small plane burst into flames, and the metal hangar collapsed around the aircraft. Responding fire officials described the crash and fire as "unsurvivable," according to NBC 4.

The crash remains under investigation by NTSB officials.
