Rock Bands Raise Money in Search for Amber

Nine San Diego County rock bands hosted a concert at Kit Carson Park on Saturday to benefit the search effort for missing Escondido teenager Amber Dubois, the North County Times reported,

"Quite a few of the members of the bands, they have kids. We just all wanted to help out," said Willie Tuckerson, co-owner of Escondido-based music booking agency World Wide Concerts.

Tuckerson's band, Willie Psycho, also played at the daylong free concert that asked for donations to aid in the search for Amber, 14, who disappeared Feb. 13. Tuckerson said enlisting the musicians to volunteer their time was easy.

Other bands participating in Saturday's concert were: With Bare Hands, Grieve for Tomorrow, Black Belt Jones, Fuzz Nuzzi, Desolace, Mr. Dubie, A Dull Science and Tabernacle.

Amber's father, Maurice Dubois said concert funds would go to printing more of the four-color "Missing" posters that he said now are posted in cities throughout Southern California and in Mexico.

Some of the money raised will pay for meals for volunteers in future on-the-ground search efforts for Amber, who was last seen walking toward Escondido High School.

Volunteers were asked to meet at 755 N. Quince St. in Escondido at 8 a.m. Sunday for the next search, he said.
