A pool maintenance worker was found dead in the shallow end of the pool at a home in Santee, a sheriff's deputy said.
The man was found around 2 p.m. face down in the pool at a home on Chaparral Drive by the Santee Fire Department, sheriff's Sgt. Phillip Beaumont said.
The 40-year-old man was a pool maintenance worker, Beaumont said.
California's Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified of the industrial accident and responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, Beaumont said.
The Medical Examiner's Office was also notified.
There were no signs of trauma or foul play, according to deputies.
