Pedestrian Hit, Killed Near Freeway Ramp

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Linda Vista Friday night, California Highway Patrol officials confirmed.
The fatal accident happened near the freeway on-ramp at southbound State Route 163 and Genesee Avenue at around 9:45 p.m.
CHP officials received reports of a pedestrian down on the roadway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers temporarily closed down traffic on eastbound Genesee Avenue near the on-ramp as investigators processed the scene.
Additional details – including the victim’s name – has not yet been released.
