Driver Gets Stuck on Flooded Road

Swift water quickly enveloped a car trying to cross a street in Nestor Monday morning.

The driver had to be rescued from his vehicle by fire fighters, after the car became stuck in waist-deep water at the corner of Sunset Ave. and Saturn Blvd around 7 a.m.

Homeowners in the area say the road frequently floods after heavy rains.

"It's always flooded here," said neighbor Guillermo Valenzuela. "It's been a recurring problem for the past 40 years, at least."

Valenzuela said the road use to go through, but over the years it was closed to through traffic. He estimates the dip is 9 to 10 feet deep.
