Wife of Tommie Harris passes away after brain aneurysm

The wife of San Diego Chargers defensive tackle Tommie Harris passed away suddenly on Sunday.

Ashley Harris was 29. She was found unresponsive in Oklahoma. A coronor later determined the cause of death was either a stroke or a brain aneurysm.

"The Chargers family is saddened by the sudden loss of one of our very young members," the team said in a statement. "Tommie Harris' wife Ashley leaves behind a loving husband and two young children."

The couple got married in January and Ashley Harris delivered their second child less than six months ago.

"Our prayers are with the Harris family during this most difficult time," the team stated.

After hearing the news, Chargers fans extended open arms over social media, expressing their condolences for the family. Over 500 fans commented on the news by Monday, many from all over the country.
