Police say that a suspicious fire that burned the insides of a popular vista Taco Shop was a cover-up of a burglary.

Juanita’s Taco Shop on 248 Main St. caught fire early Wednesday morning, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

The fire burned much of the shop before firefighters knocked it down. No injuries were reported, and the neighboring shops were spared from the fire.

Sheriffs were suspicious of the cause of the fire, as the front door to the taco shop was left open.

Later, sheriffs found the cash register from the taco shop in Oceanside, according to the North County Times.

The owners of the taco shop told the NCT that they plan to rebuild the 16-year-old family business, which has been a neighborhood favorite since it opened.
