A driver who missed a turn on Fiesta Island ended up driving into the water, leaving his car completely submerged, San Diego police said.
The initial incident happened at approximately 1:25 a.m. Sunday near the water ski area on the south side of Fiesta Island, by Hidden Anchorage, police said.
The driver told police he missed a turn and went into the water, police said.
One person in the car was arrested, though police do not have details on what he was arrested for.
Fiesta Island is closed to cars at 10 p.m. Police say someone may have forgotten to lock the gate last night.
Lifeguards will remove the car from the water.
