AT&T Gives $500K for Tech Training Courses

The donation will help adults in San Diego and 22 other markets

AT&T Inc. recently gave the OASIS Institute $500,000 to fund technology training courses for adults in San Diego and 22 other markets.

OASIS, a nonprofit organization based in St. Louis, gears its services to adults age 50 or older.

Its Connections program features more than 30 courses designed to help mature adults learn basic to intermediate technology skills, including Internet browsing, email, social networking, job searching and essential workplace tools such as word processing and spreadsheets.

β€œWe are excited to partner with OASIS to help bring the benefits of technology to all consumers,” said Ignacio De La Torre, regional vice president for external affairs at AT&T.

Since 2002, AT&T and the AT&T Foundation have contributed more than $3.7 million to support OASIS.
