Two people were thrown from a truck that lost control Wednesday morning.
Now, the truck driver has been arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and felony hit and run.
The incident happened just before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Genesee Avenue and Park Mesa Way in Linda Vista.
According to police officials, a 1991 GMC flatbed truck was speeding down Genesee when the driver slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting cars stopped at the red light.
The force caused the truck’s passenger-side door to open, and the two other people in the front seat fell out onto the road.
Instead of stopping, the 29-year-old driver did a U-turn and tried to get away, according to police.
He was stopped a short time later, and officers took him into custody. The driver, whose identity has not been released, faces charges of felony hit and run and felony DUI.
Both passengers were taken to the hospital. A 55-year-old-man was treated for a fractured rib and collapsed lung. A 29-year-old man suffered bruises.
