1 Burned in Boat Fire Off Shelter Island

One person was burned in a boat fire approximately 100 yards off Shelter Island in San Diego's bay Saturday night, officials said. 

The fire broke out around 8:45 p.m. when someone on the boat used propane to light something, San Diego Fire-Rescue crews said. 

The victim was pulled from the water, Harbor police officials said. The victim was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center with burn wounds, though SDFD officials are unsure how serious the burns are. 

It is unclear how many people may have been on board. 

No other information was immediately available.
