If you've noticed your commute is getting longer again, it is.
The steep drop in gridlock that began three years ago because of high gas prices and the struggling economy has ended, according to a report by a company that tracks traffic congestion across the U.S.
The study by INRIX found driving has increased in recent months compared to a year ago, because of the improving economy.
The report says San Diego was listed as the 17th most congested city last year. No surprise, Los Angeles topped the list.
The worst time to be on the roads is statistically Wednesday from 8 to 9 a.m. and Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. Those segmenst are considered the busiest travel times nationwide.
The study is pulled together using INRIX’ own historical traffic database generated by the company’s Smart Driver Network of more than 1.6 million vehicles traveling the roads everyday including taxis, airport shuttles, service delivery vans, long haul trucks as well as consumer vehicles and mobile devices.
