    Four hospitals in San Diego scored among the safest in the nation according to a nonprofit company that rates hospital safety.

    Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center was awarded an A in Patient Safety by Leapfrog Group's Hospital Safety Score.

    Leapfrog rates hospitals on their overall performance in keeping patients safe and medical errors using data available to the public.

    Earning an 'A' on the Hospital Safety Score demonstrates that this hospital has exhibited excellence in patient safety measures.

    Other hospitals given an A from this website include include Scripps Green Hospital, UC San Diego Hillcrest and UC San Diego Thornton.
