“I Just Want My Baby Home”: Deputies Looking for Missing 17-Year-Old Cupertino Boy

Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a 17-year-old Cupertino boy who hasn’t been seen since Monday, after he showed up for his first class at school but missed the rest of the day.

Sgt. James Jensen said Connor Sullivan also failed to show up at track practice at Monta Vista High School where he goes to school.

His family last saw him at 7 a.m. going to school that day, Jensen said, and school staff last saw him at 10 a.m.

"This is very unusual for Connor," said Jeff Sullivan, Connor's father. "He's a steady kid, hard working and a great student."

Deputies have searched all over Monta Vista High School, Oaks Shopping Center, local parks and contacted local hospitals. Connor likely has a cell phone in his possession.

Connor’s family said he likes to play online video games and enjoys running cross country in the area of the Fremont Older Open Space Preserve.

"I'm just hoping he stayed near home," said Jill Sullivan, Connor's mother. "I just want him home. I just want my baby home."

Connor is about 5’ 5" tall, and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He was last seen by school staff wearing a black shirt, faded black sweatshirt, black shorts, and blue/white athletic shoes. Connor has a dark color backpack and a smaller athletic bag containing school books and track equipment.

The sheriff's office said there is no evidence of foul play and will continue searching throughout the region.

"At this point we don't believe he's at risk," Jensen said. "We believe he is a runaway. It is suspicious because it's out of character."

Volunteers are being signed up for more searches that will go until nightfall.
