A suspect is in custody and facing murder charges as San Diego police investigate the fatal stabbing of man early Sunday morning in Webster.
The suspect called 911 around 1:40 a.m. and told the dispatcher that he killed someone in his home in the 4800 block of Lyon Street, said police Lt. Kevin Rooney.
Officers arrived on the scene to find the suspect waiting outside the residence and took the man into custody without incident, according to a media release.
The victim, 43, was found inside the living room of residence suffering from an apparent stab wound, said Rooney.
Paramedics arrived, but the victim died at 1:59 a.m. The motive for the incident is unknown.
Though the victim has been tentatively identified, police are withholding his name, pending further investigation.
The suspect will be processed at the Homicide Office, said Rooney, and they will release his name once he is positively identified.
Homicide is investigating.
