Zooey Deschanel, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Charm in New Year's Eve Duet

"(500) Days of Summer" co-stars reunite for adorable cover.

That "New Girl" can sing.

Actors Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are the talk of the web since uploading a YouTube vid this week of a duet performance, musically asking, "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"

Deschanel, 31, plays ukulele and her "(500) Days of Summer" co-star plays guitar in the two-minute cover of the 1947 jazz song by Nancy Wilson.

In a note accompanying the video, Deschanel said she's known Gordon-Levitt for about 12 years and calls him "simply the best."

"We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since," she wrote. "When we did 500 Days of Summer 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and make up trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he’s simply the best."

The two stars don't reveal their New Year's Eve plans in the clip, but they will be celebrating together in 2012. Both are nominated for Golden Globe Awards: she for actress in a TV comedy for Fox's "New Girl," and he for his lead role in the film "50/50."

Earlier this year, Deschanel made headlines for splitting with her musician hubby of two years, Ben Gibbard.
