β€œTwilight” Bids Farewell to Comic-Con

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and cast bid an emotional adieu to screaming fans in San Diego.

With the release of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" in November, the "Twilight Saga" takes its final bow.

If the film's panel at Comic-Con in San Diego Thursday is any indication, it's going to be an emotional parting of ways for fans of author Stephenie Meyer's vampire series.

The thousands that waited patiently, some for days, poured into the largest hall of the convention center and were treated to the film's first seven minutes showing main character Bella (Kristen Stewart) exploring her newly acquired vampire powers and dealing with the blood lust that comes with them. Another clip of the Cullen clan trying to show Bella how to act human was also screened.

Following the clips, Meyer was joined onstage by Stewart and her co-stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Green and Jackson Rathbone.

To say the crowd went wild would be an understatement.

The panel proceeded with some of the cast admitting they were emotional also now that the series is coming to a close. Reed appeared genuinely choked up at times saying, "We were kids when we started and we're growing into adults. I think it's cool to walk away having grown with people."

Facinelli acknowledged the crowd by telling them one of his fondest memories would be the fans. "I feel I should scream for you," he said.

Meyer looked relieved throughout, admitting "I'm kind of burned out on vampires right now," before ending the gathering by showing a clip of her new film "The Host," which is scheduled for release in March, 2013.

Stewart maintained her composure throughout saying that it felt "bittersweet" to be coming to the end, finally. "But it feels good," she added. "It feels like, 'Yes, we did it. We finished."

Comic-Con director of marketing and public relations David Glanzer took the stage first to offer condolences to the family of the fan who lost her life in a traffic accident outside the venue earlier in the week. Glanzer impressed upon those in attendance that they should watch over their friends.
