Police Investigating Ellen Page Death Threats

An anonymous person called the organizers of the L.A. Film Festival and left a message threatening to kill Page

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a series of death threats made against the 25-year-old actress Ellen Page.

โ€œIโ€™m going to murder Ellen Page. Sheโ€™s dead,โ€ an unnamed suspect wrote on Twitter, according an affidavit obtained by The Los Angeles Times.

An anonymous person called the organizers of the L.A. Film Festival and left a message threatening to kill Page in June. The actressโ€™s latest film, "To Rome With Love," directed by Woody Allen, screened at the festival during that month, causing Page to not attend the film premier.

Pageโ€™s management team alerted Twitter and the LAPD as soon as they became aware of the threats, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Police detectives then sought out a search warrant in order to trace the senderโ€™s Twitter accounts.

A spokeswoman for the LAPD would not disclose any additional details of the investigation.

Page had her breakout role with the 2007 film โ€œJuno.โ€
