Sounds Like San Diego: Sept. 18

I love when San Diego just keeps offering up good stuff. As long as there are a few touring acts mixed in with residencies and local showcases, everything is OK in my book. On Thursday, you can rock out intensely to Rise Against at the RIMAC Arena or get nostalgic for your punk days with the Buzzcocks at the Belly Up. Personally, I recommend Gardens and Villa at the Casbah because any indie rock band who can incorporate flute into their music is breaking some sort of boundary. Just don't pick up on their fashion sense, because there is just never any room for a beret in indie rock. Don't hold it against them.

  • Rise Against, Touche Amore, Radkey @ RIMAC Arena
  • Gardens and Villa, Sandy Alex G @ Casbah
