Sounds Like San Diego: September 14

Counting Crows and Rob Thomas join up for a Wednesday night, '90s-rock showdown

It was somewhere in the area of 20 years ago: Counting Crows was on tour and happened to have a date at, what was then, the newly opened Coors Amphitheatre in Chula Vista. They were a favorite among me and my high school girlfriends, and they were playing on my birthday, so we saved up our money and ended up with second-row tickets to the show. We couldn't have been more excited. And then the tour was cancelled. I was heartbroken. But right around my 21st birthday a couple years later, Counting Crows and Matchbox 20 toured and my bestie and I drove up to the Pond to see them. Of course, decades have passed and musical tastes change, but I'm still kinda clinging to the hope that I can score some last-minute tickets to see Counting Crows and Rob Thomas at the Open Air Theatre tonight. Just for nostalgia's sake. In the meantime, Chuck Ragan is back at the Casbah, Post Malone is at the Observatory, and the stars of "Jackass" have (presumably) signed contracts that the Belly Up will not be burned down or otherwise destroyed after they appear live tonight.
