I'm beside myself with excitement for this weekend's San Diego Music Thing, but Wednesday night's options are so good that I might just declare Wednesday the new Friday and start my weekend early. Neko Case returns to San Diego with a show at the House of Blues. I hear this one is close to selling out, so don't wait till you get to HoB to buy your tickets. Be sure to get there for openers Pickwick. They're amazing and worth fighting the downtown parking early. The Belly Up has our friends Minus the Bear, the Paper Thins shred at the Void, and the dark horse for the night is Ewert and the Two Dragons at the Casbah. It's probably safe to say they're the first band from Estonia ever to grace the Casbah stage, and they're travelling an awfully long way to play their incredible music for the lovely people of San Diego. Give them a shot, and, by all reports, you will not be disappointed.
