Looking at tonight's shows, I've gotta say: Not too shabby for a Wednesday. First and foremost, the Balboa Theatre will be alive tonight with KPRI's Holiday Soiree. An eclectic combination of musicians will perform, representing the breadth of the music the station has supported for many years, and individually, these bands are fantastic, so collectively the show should be fantastic. It's funny to think back to just a couple years ago when less than 50 people showed up for Fitz & the Tantrums' first San Diego show. The band never stopped working and deserves all the love and accolades it has received. Over at the old Casbah, the Supersuckers return for their almost-annual pilgrimage. This one is going to be a party, so take your nap before the show or plan on being late to work on Thursday. Finally, the legendary B.B. King is performing at the Belly Up and if you've never had the chance to see him live, make this a priority.
Wednesday, November 30:
KPRI Holiday Soiree, with Fitz & the Tantrums, the Head and the Heart, Mayer Hawthorne @ Balboa Theatre
Supersuckers, the Blasters, Shake Before Us, Low Volts @ Casbah
