I hope you didn't go too big for Halloween, because there are some great shows Thursday that deserve your attention. Bar Pink hosts the Beautiful View and Standing Hawthorn, and Blackbird Blackbird perform at the Griffin. Tonic had some big radio hits in the '90s, but their albums also had some great deep cuts that will sound gorgeous at Anthology. Elsewhere, the Casbah hosts the great Lord Huron, which should bring out the indie scene of San Diego in full force. I'll certainly be there, but only after the show at Humphreys: Needtobreathe are headlining, but for me it's Good Old War that makes this show a must-see. The Pennsylvania band has amazing harmonies, and it isn't often I would describe a band I love as feel-good music. In fact, in some circles, that might even be an insult, like the coded use of radio-friendly, but. frankly. I don't have a problem with catchy songs that just make me feel good every once in awhile. Good Old War have got it, and I can only hope my seat is far enough from everyone else so that I can sing along at the top of my lungs to "Loud Love."
