    NEWSLETTERS

Thursday is a showdown of singer/songwriters. In the Casbah's corner, you have Patrick Park, who returns to San Diego year after year and has rightfully earned adoration and admiration from the many fans, myself included, who try to catch every show he plays. Supported by Noel Jordan and Josh Damigo, this lineup has depth and diversity that breaks free of your coffeeshop singer/songwriter stigma. Across town, Soda Bar offers up an equally deep lineup of singer/songwriters, headlined by Chris Peruka, who's based in Massachusetts. She's eclectic and again, breaks the boundaries of the coffeeshop stigma, and will have support from Jesse Thomas, Saba and Cassie B. Both shows are winners, whether you are looking for the tried and true at the Casbah or the somewhat new at Soda Bar.

Why Noel Jordan Can't Have Nice Things
Check out "Ruin Everything," the new single from local singer/songwriter (and one-man wrecking crew) Noel Jordan. Oh, and sorry about that fountain, Balboa Park. (Published Sunday, April 27, 2014)
