After a full day of Comic-Con action, I'll be looking forward to some great music in San Diego. Personally I'll be at West Coast Tavern. If you happened to be at the Heavy Guilt's record release show last weekend, you know that frontman Erik Canzona has a unique voice. Tonight he steps away from the band, with simple accompaniment by Al Howard, the Heavy Guilt's lyrical master ... the guy behind the guy, if you will. If that isn't your thing, however, there are great live shows at the Casbah, the Belly Up and Bar Pink. This week, Art Fag is hosting some awesome shows for the indie set over at Soda Bar, and if you'd rather stick around downtown, check out one-man band Low Volts at the Lincoln Room.
Thursday July 21 (Comic-Con):
Art Fag and Impose present Heavy Hawaii, Dunes, Bleached, Cold Showers, Plateaus, DJs Mario Orduno and Jeff Graves @ Soda Bar
Erik Canzona and Alfred Howard (of the Heavy Guilt) @ West Coast Tavern
Ty Segall, Audacity, the Kabbs, Spider Fever @ Casbah
