The Burning of Rome opened last year's San Diego Music Awards with a spectacle that was written about by local media outlets, but the pig heads on stakes overshadowed the band's music, which is hard to categorize but feels something like a punk-rock carnival. You kind of expect appearances by bearded ladies and lobstermen when this band (playing at the Casbah tonight) takes the stage.
