Our FREE SoundDiego LIVE concert series is set to take over the all-new Space Bar on El Cajon Boulevard, with Tim Pyles of 91x hosting, THREE fantastic bands and a Belching Beaver craft-beer happy hour!
Our 55th party kicks off at 8 p.m. at the former home of the Hideout, where Hit Dog Hollar headlined a SoundDiego LIVE bash in 2014 before heading off to Nashville to seek their fortune and fame. This year, we'll have happy hour freebies from our craft-beer partner, Belching Beaver Brewery, for those who RSVP beforehand and arrive during the first hour.
We'll be showcasing a pair of Burger Records acts this go-round, with some musical support from San Diego's own Creepseed. Nobody's more stoked on this lineup than our master of ceremonies for the night, Mr. Tim Pyles of 91x.
"The Memories are bedroom pop from the Burger Records label," Pyles said. "Visit their Bandcamp page and download the Tour Tape '17 for free. It includes a great cover of the Steve Miller Band's 'The Joker.' Colleen Green sounds a little bit like '90s era female-fronted indie rock but updated for today's discerning taste-makers. Her latest record features contributions from members of Jeff the Brotherhood and Diarrhea Planet -- experimental stoner pop punk is one way to think of it."
The 91x Loudspeaker host saved his local music love for last.
"The wait for Creepseed shows is over, and trust me we've been waiting for this, another project from the mind of Josh Kmak, formerly of the nFormals and Shady Francos, who, of course, are the SoundDiego TV theme-song band," Pyles added. "Creepseed are rock & roll, and, now with a real Marc Bolan -- aka T. Rex -- feel. I can't wait for this."
The party starts at 8 p.m., so be sure to show up early for some Belching Beaver suds, and be prepared to have fun! Of course, a SoundDiego LIVE party wouldn't be complete without dishing out some happy-hour freebies to folks that RSVP -- so get on it!
