4th of July weekend is upon us, so make sure to pace yourselves because there is plenty of fun to be had all over San Diego.
Thursday night has lots of live music choices. Matisyahu is at the San Diego County Fair; Wild Cub and Night Riots play at House of Blues; Ronnie Spector, Behind the Beehive and DJ Claire are at the North Park Theatre; Seven Grand is celebrating their two-year anniversary with live music from New Mexico, Wild Wild Wets and DJ Mike Delgado; Metalachi and Geezer rock the Casbah; Stewardess, Arms Away and Crooked Rulers play at the Tin Can Ale House; Ed Ghost Tucker is at Sycamore Den; and Hip Hop vs. Punk Rock takes over the Tower Bar. For your dancing fix, Penguin Prison is at Bang Bang and Adrian Lux hits Bassmnt.
Since the 4th falls on a Friday this year, extra shenanigans await! There are many pool parties to go along with the fireworks, including the Hi-Dive Pool Party at the Palomar Hotel with DJs Saul Q, Adam Salter, Kanye Asada and more; Fortune’s event at Float featuring Hot Mouth, Brady Spear, Beefam, Huy Believe, Chris Liosi, Engage and Dancellor; Le Youth headlines the RoofTop600 at Andaz; and later that night DJ Whiiite and Meaux Green take over Bassmnt.
On Saturday, daytime fun at Intervention features Redfoo at the Hard Rock Hotel. When the sun goes down, celebrate 25 years of Avalon Tattoo at the Casbah with live performances by the Creepy Creeps, Schitzophonics and more; Gayle Skidmore performs at Tin Can Ale House with support from Laura Gravelle and Saba; and Iacon Sound presents Globalies, Sleeping Ghost, PlayFight and the S/ashes at Winstons. Plus, get your dance on with Club Ascension at The Kava Lounge featuring DJs Bloodsport, Michael and yours truly playing the best in dark underground dance music.
Have a great 4th and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
