Jon Bon Jovi took to Facebook and Twitter to end rumors that he was dead.

    Bon Jovi, dead or alive?

No, Jon Bon Jovi is not really dead and to prove he is very much alive, the singer took to Twitter and Facebook.

The premature announcement of Bon Jovi's death was one of the fastest trending items on Google Monday and for once the hoax was not started on Twitter.

Early Tuesday a site called Daily News Blog International posted a story that the singer was dead.

Good thing the New Jersey native had a sense of humor about the whole thing.

First the singer made numerous references to his death and pretending to take calls from worried friends and family during a concert Monday evening.

Then to end any debate, he posted news that he is still walking amongst the living on Bay Area-based social-networking sites.

Bon Jovi began sending tweets and then posted a picture of himself standing in front of a Christmas tree, holding a sign that read "Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey" with the day's date and time.
