Cameron Sinks Bigelow for Best Director

James Cameron won Best Director for "Avatar," much to the shock of even himself.

"I'm gonna make this quick, cuz I have to go to the bathroom something fierce," Cameron confessed. He then went on to say that he was unprepared for the honor, having assumed, like every other sighted person on Earth, that his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow would win.

Unfortunately Cameron then thanked his actors in Na'vi, the language he created for the film -- seriously, what level of self-absorbed uber dorkery does it take to do such a thing?

"Avatar" is a spectacle, to be sure. But "The Hurt Locker" was the most complete piece of film making in an admittedly down year. This thing between Bigelow and Cameron will be properly decided at the Oscars.
