The marketing gurus at Big Bear have come up with a stimulus package of their own. They say they'll make it worth your while if you decide to vacation at one of their participating lodges or hotels in the coming months. A five night stay earns you a $100 Visa Gift Card; a 3 or 4 night stay nets you a $50 card and a one or two night sleep-over is worth $25.
The program starts next weekend and runs through the summer and most of the fall, right up until just before Thanksgiving. The Visa Gift Cards can be used anywhere in town, says Big Bear Lake Association CEO Ken Brengle. Some of his suggestions include filling up the gas tank, eating out or even renting a boat.
Big Bear Lake is located in the San Bernadino Mountains, about a two-hour drive from most of San Diego.
