I have to admit that it is strange to look down Tuesday's listings and not see any touring bands jump out, but perhaps it is meant to be so that you can explore the local scene for the night.
At the Belly Up, the Mar Dels celebrate 30 years of playing motown, swing and rockabilly classics with a fundraiser for some North County fire departments. Down at El Dorado, surf-jazz duo Mattson 2 perform, while the Brian Ellis Group perform at Tin Can.
My pick of the night would have to be Soda Bar. Matt Curreri has long been one of my favorite songwriters, so it is great that he's re-emerged on the scene. The new, high-energy Ugly Boogie will be a thrill if you've been waiting for just the right chance to see them, and the Defribulators headline the evening. Keep it local, San Diego.
