If you live in San Diego, chances are you love this city. But if you're a fan of electronic music, you're about to love it even more.
The new festival series known as I Love This City has just announced the lineup for its San Diego event on May 27, and it promises to have all the electronic kids waving their glowsticks in the air -- or whatever it is the kids today wave around when they get excited. iPhones maybe?
Headlining the event will be none other than Skrillex, who is currently one of the hottest DJ's around. Skrillex's popularity began on the internet, but has since led to mainstream success. He was recently nominated for a whopping five Grammys and took home three, including Best Dance/Electronica Album, Best Dance Recording and Best Non-Classical Remixed Recording. (Apparently there are so many people remixing Mozart and Vivaldi that they get their own separate category.)
Skrillex is just one of over a dozen artists slated to play the I Love This City show. Others include A-Trak, the Crystal Method, Dirtyloud, 12th Planet, the Twelves, Cookie Monsta, Brodinski, Nadia Ali, Lucky Date, MiMOSA, JDevil (aka Jonathan Davis of Korn), SOFI, Jaguar Skills, AC Slater, TJR, Flinch, the M Machine, No Body and Deth Hertz.
It's fitting that the festival will take place on Memorial Day, because with that many beats, grooves, jams, and combinations thereof to choose from, you're sure to have an unforgettable time. I Love This City will be held at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre and is open to people 16 years of age and older.
Tickets start at $25, but if you're feeling fancy you can splurge on the $75 VIP General Admission Pit Pass, which includes separate entrance, private restrooms and a private bar. We're guessing the private bar isn't located in the bathroom, but hey, you never know. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 13 on the Live Nation website.
