Bolts Go On Shoe Shopping Spree

Chargers Help Needy Kids

The San Diego Chargers went on a new shoe-shopping spree Tuesday, helping out local kids in need.

The team and Payless ShoeSource stores donated more than 1,000 pairs of shoes to deserving children for the 20th annual Back-to-School Shoe distribution, which helps kids in kindergarten through sixth grade.

"Some of these kids are underprivileged -- only a pair of shoes.  They are really happy.  They have the biggest smiles on their faces.  They get to get a new pair of shoes and socks, so it's a lot of fun," said Chargers player Jaques Cesaire.

Other players -- including LaDanian Tomlinson, Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates, Chris Chambers, Darren Sproles, Igor Olshanky and Luis Castillo -- also signed autographs and posed for pictures,

The Payless Shoe Source stores participating are on Murphy Canyon Road in San Diego, on Dennery Road in the South Bay, on Broadway in Lemon Grove and on East Auto Parkway in Escondido.
